Terri Crawford Hansen

Terri Crawford Hansen (born in 1953) is a journalist and author. An enrolled member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska,<ref>McCormick, 203</ref> she was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Hansen is Indian Country's key environment and science journalist. She covers the impacts of global climate change to North American tribal and worldwide indigenous communities. A correspondent for Indian Country Today, her articles also appear in Mother Earth Journal, News from Indian Country, Native American Times, High Country News, and SEJournal<ref>"Overview." SE Journal.</ref> and online publications.

She is a 2009 National Press Foundation Fellow, and a 2009 and 2010 Fellow of the Association of Health Care Journalists and a 1994 Fellow of the Society of Environmental Journalists. She is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists, the Association of Health Care Journalists, the Native American Journalists Association, and the Wordcraft Circle of Native Writers and Storytellers. As a member of the Association of Health Care Journalists, she has requested with other journalists that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) end current practices that restrict the public's access to health information.<ref>"News: Letter to FDA demands that agencies end news gathering constraints."
