Jordan Wheeler

Jordan Wheeler Of Cree, Ojibwe, Assiniboine and European descent, was born in Victoria in 1964 and is a member of the Gordons First Nation. He's written fiction, children's literature, poetry, journalism and drama over the course of a writing career that began in 1982. In 1984, to help support his writing, Wheeler began working in the film and television industry in a variety of positions (P.A., locations, 2nd and 3rd A.D., Production Manager, Audio Recordist, Assistant Editor, etc.) He combined the two careers in 1989 by co-writing his first dramatic script for television, a half hour drama called Welcome Home Hero. For the past fifteen years Wheeler's focus has been writing and story editing for dramatic television. He has also been a journalist. He has published numerous articles and short works of fiction in various newspapers and periodicals, including the Winnipeg Free Press, Prairie Fire, and the Canadian Theatre Review. He has worked on writing and story editing the youth series, the renegadepress.com for Vérité Films, and is co-writer of the television movie, Front Runners, for CBC and Buffalo Gal Productions. Some of his credits include Tipi Tales, The Longhouse Tales, Just A Walk, Brothers In Arms, The Rez`, the Adventures of Shirley Holmes and North of 60.
