[edit] What Is A Wiki
Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. ("Wiki" is Hawaiian for quick!) Used responsibly, wikis allow everyday users to create and edit pages on a Web site, encouraging democratic use of the Web and promoting content composition by nontechnical users. Wikipedia is the best known wiki program.
[edit] What is NativeWiki?
NativeWiki is an online encyclopedia of and for native and indigenous peoples of the world. NativeWiki is collaboratively written by many of its readers. Inappropriate changes are usually removed quickly, and repeat offenders can be blocked from editing.
NativeWiki is part of NativeWeb, Inc., an international, nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to using telecommunications including computer technology and the Internet to disseminate information from and about indigenous nations, peoples, and organizations around the world; to foster communication between native and non-native peoples; to conduct research involving indigenous peoples' usage of technology and the Internet; and to provide resources, mentoring, and services to facilitate indigenous peoples' use of this technology.
