Anthony Chee Emerson

Anthony Chee Emerson, (b. May 1, 1963, California) (Navajo) graduated from Rehoboth High School, 1980, attended Dordt College, Sioux Center, IA and the University of New Mexico. He graduated with an Associates of Arts degree from San Juan College in 2004. Emerson is the illustrator of four children’s books; in 2002 he illustrated Native American Health Studies for Teenage Depression Series for John Hopkins's University. He has been commissioned to illustrate the posters for the New Mexico State Libraries, the 2000 Totah Festival, the 1996 Gallup Intertribal Ceremonials 75th Diamond Anniversary, the 1995 Artist and Artistry, the 82nd Navajo Nation Fair and the Rehoboth Christian School centennial event posters.
He has participated in the Santa Fe Indian Market and Gallup Intertribal Ceremonials since 1982 and the Heard Museum Indian Market since 1995. His work is included in the collections of the Heard Museum, the Wheelwright Museum, and the Museum of Indian Art and Culture among others.
Emerson resides in Kirtland, New Mexico.
